2:23 p.m. • 2007-05-13 Listening to: Naked City Drank a few at the music shop the other night. I left with some pretty good albums for a change. My face is breaking out and I'm trying to determine why. Its one of three things: 1) new foundation I really hope it's number three. Most of the pimples are on the left side of my cheek. I've noticed that I have been touching my face at work while writing up shit. Eh.....my face is a mess with the malasma. Going off that nasty pill after the wedding. I don't want to take chances going off before because I might break out worse or get pregnant...eh! Recently Acquired Shit: 1) Bright Eyes "Four Winds" EP I should have wrote this up when I got it a month or so again. Anyways, heavy, heavy country influence on this. Too heavy for me. I get images in my mind that arn't too pleasant. "Smoke without fire," sounds highly influenced by Lenard Cohen . Correct me if I'm wrong, Oberst's voice range is all over the place on this EP. The songs crash into each other very unpleasantly. Then there is "Stray dog freedom" that manages a 70's feel. I think I'm refraining from buying the album. This EP wasn't exactly a "teaser" for me. -I'll write about the other albums soon! Don't have time to devote to them. -Bexx |
